Learn from the PA experts! New blog post - special edition by Anders Kopp
In this special edition of The Public Affairs Engine Blog, Anders Kopp explores the placement of the Public Affairs (PA) function within organizations. Based on responses from over 25 PA professionals, two interesting trends emerge. Firstly, many PA teams report directly to the CEO, indicating their high level of legitimacy. Secondly, some PA teams are situated under marketing and communication, proving to be effective in certain cases.
While different setups can work, Anders believes that for PA to reach its full potential, it should be independent and report directly to the C-level. The size of PA teams, as observed from the blogs, aligns with the average of 4-5 members mentioned in Anders' book. Contrary to common perception, PA teams are often smaller compared to other departments. These observations are based on a small sample and not representative, as individuals may perform PA activities without holding a specific "PA title." Read the full post here.
